And the weekend draws to a close

I did the Convention thing this weekend!

Talk about a lot of fun ^_____^ I wound up buying a fuku (japanese school uniform) due to a buy one get one sale. It was quite nice and they seem most comfortable. I got 3 box sets of anime; 2 Revolutionary Girl: Utena (Black Rose Saga and Apocalypse Saga. I have the Rose Duels Saga) and Sailor Moon Stars, which hasn't been bought by an American company, so it probably won't be released any day soon. I'm told it's subtitled *crosses fingers*

The first day I had the swesome costume of Yomiko Readman (which I was grateful for the raincoat, seeing as it poured). My picture was taken for the Yomiko's Library website. I'll link it when she updates for the Otakon 2005 cosplay. ^_^

I also picked up this uber cute bag that's blue covered in gold dragons. My mom liked it so much I had to hunt it down on line so she could get a black version. But, lets get out of the dealers room!!

What I saw: I can't remember the title, but it's part of the Sakura wars. It was pretty nice, a bit childish as far as the script, but still enjoyable.

I watched the Anime Music Video contest. That started funny as hell. Earlier on, we watched some AMVs and one of them was on Naruto set to Evanessence, which was ok, but a very strange paring that could have been better selesctd (but I commend for the attempt). The Contest started off something like this:

A few months back, we locked a bunch of Otaku [obsessed fans] in a room with the submissions for the AMV contest. Two weeks later, only one emerged jibbering something about Naruto and Evanessence. What you are about to see is the remains found at the site.

The contest was really well done. The AMVs were excelent and exceeded expectations, especially in the humor/comedy section. In the romantic/sentimental section, I voted on an AMV based on Sailor Moon to the tune of Roses are Red by Aqua (a yuri-suggested one where Sailor Mars sings her love to Sailor Moon). We ran into the guy who did that and he gave us a DVD of that and a few others he's done. That was a definite highlight!

Then, the next day, the big thing to watch was the Saturday Night Fan Parodies. OMG they were good. I won't babble about them because very few would get the jokes, but they were done in such a way that when other animes were spliced in, you could believe the flow. Plus, for Neon Genesis Evangelion ReDeath ReDux ReMastered, the fact that all the Gendo cosplayers were dancing around for Gendo's Super-Pimp theme was funny as hell.

So, I leave you with a parting thought:

"I know we haven't known each other for very long, but can you show me the nookie?"
